The Wilson Pickers are an Australian ensemble with an impeccable pedigree. Comprised of four of Australia's finest singer/songwriters - Andrew Morris, Danny Widdicombe, Sime Nugent and Ben Salter - and one of its most highly sought after multi-instrumentalists - John Bedggood - they perform original folk and country tunes utilising bluegrass instrumentation and superb 5 part vocal harmonies. The group’s obvious kinship and desire to have a good time whilst playing music together has garnered them considerable favour with live audiences across the nation.
The Wilson Pickers have shared stages with acts The Black Keys, The Panics and The Audreys, as well as performing at many of Australia’s premier music festivals such as The East Coast Blues & Roots, Queenscliff, Woodford and Port Fairy Folk festivals. The band members have released over 30 recorded albums between them, and have worked with or instigated beloved musical acts such as The Gin Club, Sweet Jean, Tim Rogers, The Painted Ladies, Bernard Fanning, Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicholson and Giants of Science.
On hiatus for a few years while all the members have pursued their individual projects, The Wilson Pickers have decided that the time is right to get back together for a string of shows in late 2014 including one at The Gasometer on Saturday 15 November with Harry Hookey.
