With a new year, comes resolution. We’ve been there. We’ve done who to what to that, and lived with no regrets. A scorching Summer is upon us again, but not only do we welcome the heat, we bring it too. This January, let the promise of what could be wash over you as we ride the wave, but don’t fight that tide because we’re going lunar, baby, and some things are out of our control. But just like commercial television and your parental figures have always told you, you had better slip, slop and slap.
Whiskey Houston 9-11pm: “Let’s go to the beach,” she said. Well, for those of you with a penchant for snacking on sweet little things as you lie there in your bikinis (or sans Lycra altogether), you’ll know how important it is to preheat your oven to bake that banana-coconut loaf. Which is exactly why Mother Flawless herself, will be kicking off the very first Flawless of 2015 with the tastiest of treats. Needing no introduction, Whiskey Houston has been gracing DJ booths across the club and festival circuit for many years now, with her reputation soaring next to nek level this year when she opens for the Village People at Golden Plains Festival 15’. FYI - our Mother Flawless is notorious for leaving all the dance-floor babes wishing that her sets were available in the edible variety, because you can bet your bikini lines, you’ll be left longing to lick that mixing bowl.
Rainbow Connection 11-1am: They reigned in the New Year at the Gasometer, and now Rainbow Connection are back to take you from the front and again at the back, with their decadent mix of pop and dancefloor bangerz that have spanned the ages. With previous performances at MONA FOMA’s Faux Mo, Comedy Festival Club, Melbourne Music Week, Golden Plains Festival, and an even wider menagerie of Melbourne’s finest clubs, bars and house parties, you can bet your summer lovin’ that this colour popped duo won’t leave anybody standing at the shoreline. So, don’t let anybody ever tell you that the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow doesn’t exist. Because after Gus and Alex have had their sweet way with you, you’ll be left feeling the kind of disco infused joy that’s equivalent to finding as many pieces of gold as there are sand granules on the Eastern coast line; and here’s hoping that none slippery slide into the cracks.
COMEBACK KID DJS 1-3am: Melbourne’s very own Batman and Robin, Comeback Kid DJs are menswear retail crusaders by day and when darkness strikes, will make you remember what it’s like to shake what your mumma, pappa and entire family tree gave you. Let’s put it this way, from 1-3am they’ll have you reminiscing about the time you built a sand castle kingdom on the beach with your crush that was not washed away by the raging tide: this is the sound that Comeback Kid DJ’s will be bringing to the floor, so take off your togs, jump in the ocean and swim underneath the moonlight (floaties can be provided).
