After a sell-out inaugural event, Slow Dance Social returns to once again invite you to get close and get slow.
Slow Dance Social is a non-heteronormative slow dance soiree and fundraising event with all the romance and charming awkwardness of a high school dance without the angst and paranoia. Complete with dance cards and glamorous lighting, in an age where physical contact is a scarce commodity, the event brings strangers safely together - it's high school with a happy ending!
A fundraiser for Joy94.9 and Equal Love, this old fashioned dancecard-driven social dance is traditional with a twist - a non heternormative space to celebrate connection and intimacy and directly combat depression and isolation. With live music provided by Mama Alto and a sultry soul set by PBS FM's Miss Goldie, Slow Dance Social at the Gasometer will be a romantic evening for strangers, lovers and neighbours to share vignette moments in a time out of time.
Fabulous and inspired attire, while desired, is (regretfully) not required.
Finally, you do not have to be queer to attend this party, but you must have an open mind, an open heart, and have open arms.
