The words la la la, you can stop reading, I would. And have. A few times. Direct from the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, celebrated singer-songwriter Emily Ulman is proud to announce her latest full-length release, Wear It Well.

The album follows the unveiling of its two singles ‘Scratches’ – which received airplay on triple j, Double J, Triple R and more – and the just-released ‘Hurricane’ (“Simple sentiment done intricately, and totally shattering for it.” – Strine Whine).

Emily says of the album, “Wear it Well is about perception. What we reveal about ourselves, and how much we choose to disclose or conceal, and in what way. Now more than ever we’re able to present a constructed version of ourselves. How much is superficial? And how much of the real us is real?”

Wear It Well features production from Marty Brown (Clare Bowditch, Art Of Fighting) along with instrumental contributions from Fraser A. Gorman, Adam Donovan (Augie March), Richard Bradbeer (Eagle and the Worm, Dorsal Fins, The Bluebottles), Biddy Connor (Sailor Days, Laura Jean), Oscar O'Bryan (Speed Painters), and more musical talents, with mastering by Mikey Young (Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Total Control).

This year has seen Emily support acclaimed American songwriter Jessica Pratt and perform at Hobart’s Dark Mofo. Emily has previously supported artists including Billy Bragg, Olivia Chaney, Beth Orton, M Ward, Paul Kelly, Justin Townes Earle, Neko Case, and she has performed at St Jerome’s Laneway Festival and Boogie.
