Canadian powerhouse duo Ash & Bloom (Matt McKenna and James Bloemendal) are launching their fantastic album “Let the Storm Come” and will be performing and promoting tracks from the album during there Australian tour in March 2015. They are doing one special show in Melbourne Tuesday 3rd of March at the The Gasometer Hotel Collingwood at 7.30pm before heading to Port Fairy Folk Festival.
They have crafted a sound reminiscent of Simon & Garfunkel and Iron & Wine. Their show also leans into synergy as their songs turn audiences into unsuspecting choirs. Ash & Bloom have spent years perfecting their songs and they are finally releasing them for the world to enjoy. Their debut album, “Let the Storm Come” being released in Australia, features heavy-hitting ballad "Let The Storm Come," a fan favourite, which boasts incredible songwriting and vocal aptitude. Your Hero a beautiful song. ”Heaven Is A Ghost Town" is the duo's comedic gem, pointing listeners to what they believe Heaven is 'not'. The video for “Heaven Is A Ghost Town,” an animated, controversial video depicting everyone from Ghandi to Oprah being turned away at the pearly gates. The album also features an amazing version of Tainted Love a worldwide hit for Soft Cell in the early 80’s. With tracks "If You Stay" and "You Need More Than Love", both living on opposite ends of the love spectrum yet both delivering a large dose of ear candy to listeners and of course the hip “Endless Pursuit of Cool”.
