After a massive 2014 saw Timothy Nelson & The Infidels (WA) release their acclaimed second album "Terror Terror, Hide It Hide It" which cleaned up at the WA Music Awards with 5 wins including Best Album, songwriter Timothy Nelson kicked off the new year with a 3-week run of solo shows around Melbourne. Having spent the last couple of months touring and recording new material with the Infidels, as well as putting the finishing touches on The Kill Devil Hills' upcoming fourth studio-album (for whom Nelson plays keys), Nelson returns to Melbourne on Sunday April 12th for a solo show at The Gasometer Hotel, joined by Joshua Seymour (Cherrywood).
Seymour is a troubadour, an interpreter, a storyteller. Whether on the mandolin or the guitar Seymour is a traditionalist who has immersed himself in the old timey standards of dust-bowl era American folk and blues recordings. With an honesty and frankness to his songs Seymour has all the feel of a classic older rural performer. His distinctive vocal style and unique take on traditional finger picking gives his music a compellingly plaintive quality that harks back to a bygone era and is both haunting and comforting. Catch Timothy Nelson & Joshua Seymour, Sunday April 12th at The Gasometer Hotel. Kicks off 4pm, free entry.
