Cat Canteri / Brooke Russell & The Mean Reds – double single launch with Emilee South

Tickets $10 + BF / $15 on door. Doors 4.30pm.

Melbourne alt-country darlings, Cat Canteri (The Stillsons) and Brooke Russell & The Mean Reds join forces for a double single launch at The Gaso.

On hiatus from The Stillsons, Cat Canteri released her debut solo album When We Were Young in September 2014. Canteri and her band toured nationally and gained accolades both home and abroad, with BBC Radio 2 picking up the track See My Bones. Now Canteri releases the second single from the record, the cinematic rocker Haven’t Been Alive, with a sublime music video shot in Sydney and directed by Melissa Anastasi.

Brooke Russell & The Mean Reds have been swooning and serenading in dark bars all over Melbourne with their wistful tales of boozy nights and bad decisions since launching Poor Virginia in 2013. Last year the band received a rare invite to showcase at the Americana Music Festival in Nashville. Since returning to Melbourne, the band has been hiding away in their Abbotsford studio, busily writing a new record. Never’s Gonna Take Too Long is the first taste.
