White Summer have had a massive 12 months. Following the success of their last single ‘Smoke Screen’, and shows with the likes of DMAs, Kingswood, The Delta Riggs, Harts and Stonefield, the guys bunkered down in rural NSW and recorded their new EP at Grove Studios with acclaimed Producer, Burke Reid.
‘I Know A Place We Can Love’ is the first taste off the new record. The sharp hooks draw you in from the first beat, before exploding into another ether of layers, and retracting back to control, to continue the story telling. Lead vocalist Jimmy explains it’s “a story of finding uninterrupted love, sex and intimacy, and making it last in an ever increasing conservative society.”
The rock outfit were looking at a broad range of producers to work with, not simply producers in their style of music. The notion of that search led them to the ever-diverse Burke Reid, who has worked with the likes of The Drones, Seekae, Courtney Barnett, and DZ Deathrays. This scope of artists, partnered with his amazing production quality, saw the stars align for the band.
White Summer will be joined by very special guests Captives and Pink Harvest at The Gas on Friday 19th June. Look forward to seeing you there!
