Drawn together from the darkest burrows of Melbourne’s underground music landscape, PALE HEADS have disregarded all formalities, launching straight into recording their debut album after only a handful of rabid encounters. Featuring Tom Lyngcoln (Harmony/ The Nation Blue), Thomy Sloane (Batpiss), Rui Periera (Right!, ex The Drones) and Xiao Zhong (Pairs, Bang! Bang! Aids!), Pale Heads lean on a wealth of experience and blast unhinged, dark, dirgey Australian punk-rock. Their debut album “Headless” is out May 29th through Poison City Records and to celebrate they are launching it nationally with a tour in June that sees them land in the heart of Collingwood at the Gasometer Hotel on Saturday 6th of June.
Joining the palest of heads on the night will be some of Melbourne’s best bands. The Spinning Rooms reign as one of the finest bands in Melbourne. A sprawling five piece demi god featuring members of Group Seizure, Deaf Wish, The Stickmen, Night Terrors & The Perfections, The Spinning Rooms are a tripped out, backwater blast of Australian rock n roll where saxophone skronk meets wailing feedback in some of the slickest songs this side of Exxon Valdez. The Steve Miller Band are wild unpredictable and dangerous, the way rock and roll was intended to be. Unhinged & propulsive proto punk, The SMB’s impressive pedigree (The Moodists, Palm Springs, Harmony) does little to prepare you for the glorious, wailing onslaught. Rounding out the line-up is the banging Hip Hop of Slab Knackers. Slab Knackers sees old Eddy Current Suppression Ring cohorts Brad Barry busting legitimate dope moves over Mikey Young’s classic clipped out beats. 10 years in the making and ready to break out!
