Revelry blues man Danny Walsh hails from the ‘Danny Walsh Banned’, renowned for their often spontaneous and always high-powered live performances. In 2013, they released their debut album ‘Rolling On’ which received praises from Melbourne to Mississippi. Since returning from a pilgrimage to the US Southern States, including playing a busking festival in Clarksdale, in the Mississippi Delta and jamming with the legendary Jimmy ‘Duck’ Holmes at his Bentonia juke joint, the rambunctious feather-capped Danny pulled the Banned back together to record their second album. It’s chockers with swampy blues, piano driven rock n’ roll and dead set Oz Rock and will be released later in the year. To perform some of these selections and more, a stripped-back Banned Duo will play The Gasometer Hotel Front Bar on Wednesday 22 July – standby for the show!
