Acclaimed American singer/songwriter Willy Mason plays his only Melbourne sideshow at the Gasometer on Monday 28 September. One of the most soulful and charming singer-songwriters to emerge in the last decade, Willy will be joined by his wife, Marciana Jones to play his unique blend of ambling lo-fi blues and quirky folk. Hailing from the island of Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts, Willy was signed to Conor Oberst’s label at the age of 17. He has since toured with the likes of Radiohead, Death Cab for Cutie, Mumford&Sons, and Cat Power. Willy will be taking time-out from The State of Grace: The Music of Tim and Jeff Buckley tribute tour to play this intimate solo show. Supports will be from pop folk troubadour, Tim Guy, and the indie-pop-punk-undefinable Staffords.
