The fire keeps burning at PBS 106.7FM’s monthly ska, rocksteady and early reggae party Jamaica Jump-Up with the party set to hit The Gasometer Hotel once again on Saturday, October 22. With an epic six weeks between Jump-Ups, our selectors will be rarin’ to unleash the best of their collections to shake up the dancefloor and The Moonhops will be ready for a massive live performance.
This month, we are stoked to welcome back Mr Rick Howe who, since his last Jamaica Jump-Up appearance, has become a regular on the PBS airwaves with his brand new program Riddim Yard – a bass heavy journey from the tenement yards of Kingston, to the sound systems of the UK. We are also excited that Empress Ellie B, a collector of original Jamaican vinyl specialising in sexy, slow roots riddims as well as spacey melodic dub, will be making her Jump-Up debut! Also on the line-up is the dancefloor-dominating Coco Brown whose unwavering ability to deliver killer tunes will keep the vibes ripe into the early hours of the morning.
Plus, our residents Mohair Slim (Blue Juice) and Jesse I (Babylon Burning) will throw down some of their finest vinyl from their collections for the dancefloor as Kilmarnock Steve takes charge of the formalities!
As usual, door sales only, so get down early! Party starts at 9pm, til stumps at 3am!
