Seven years on and it’s with heavy hearts, a wide smile and a large shout out to John Farnham and his farewell tours that we’re announcing our own SOT international farewell tour, and holding our last Sound of Thought party on Saturday the February 13th, at The Gasometer Hotel in Melbourne.
Not ones for drama or for making anything a sombre affair, but definitely ones for celebrating all the sweat inducing rowdy-ass-hip-swaying-dancers who made our parties more than memorable and special over the years, we have taken the time to source two standout contestants from Canada’s Got Talent to help us send off this chapter of our lives in a day long “get-yo-ass” on the floor and lets dance and sweat like only a SOT party can only make you dance n sweat.
Joining us for the occasion will be Hashman Deejay and PLO man, who will be cueing up discs and blasting The Gaso’ with all the hottest PUB (Pure Underground Bombastic) classics.
Hashman Deejay; The esoteric deejay who glides and grinds effortlessly between genres and tempos, has been one of our favourites by both curating incredible mixes and by inciting a proper throw down through his own productions, will be joining us from Vancouver for his first Australian tour. Having released on MoodHut as 1/3 of Aquarian Foundation and solo through his Ttam Renat inversion, Hashman Deejay has been on our wish list for some time and it’s with amped anticipation and appreciation that we are able to present him down under for the first time as part of our send off.
PLO Man; a reputation that proceeds him further and further afield as a party starter, jacking floors and sweating ceilings the world over, is both as equally distinctive at producing as he is at blowing up his local spot through his raucous and bounty-full-ass shaking selections. A key player in the establishment of the already blink-and-you’ll-miss-it imprint, Acting Press, as well as being a member of the recently debut combine, CC Not, PLO Man will be down under for the first time also spreading his gospel of good vibes, street art and appreciation for food.
Accompanying will be your tres res-idents over the years, Sotres; Unfettered, Bwise and Wael-X for our last get together and get-down.
A large and warm thanks to all the dancers and supporters over the years, we have done everything with you at the foremost of our concerns, so thank you for all the memories. All our love. Peace out to the artists who came down and contributed to our lil mix series.
