Almost a year on from when this baby began, PBS 106.7FM is proud to present the twelfth edition of Jamaica Jump-Up at the Gasometer Hotel on Saturday, March 19 – this time including a tribute to Jamaica’s funk, soul and reggae era of the 60s and 70s.
With a focus on material produced out of the incredible Studio One, aka the Motown of Jamaica, Jake Savona and Friends will be performing a live homage to one of the founding figures of Jamaican music: the legendary, keyboard virtuoso Jackie Mittoo. We’re even hauling in a vintage Hammond organ for the occasion.
Plus, guest selectors Troublemekka, Jim Dandy & Fez Pulkas will be joining PBS’ own Jesse I (Babylon Burning) & Mohair Slim (Blue Juice) to bring out all the ska, rocksteady and early reggae tunes throughout the night – 100% vinyl, as always. 9pm until 3am. Remember to get down to the Gaso early to beat the queue.
