AFP Takes Over The Gasometer!

Tickets $50 (Booking Fee Inclusive). Doors 8.00 PM

Singer-songwriter and New York Times bestselling author Amanda Palmer is taking over the beloved Gasometer for six nights throughout January, February and March, 2017.

“It’s time for me to re-connect to my audience with nothing but a piano and a microphone, and Australia has always been really fertile ground for me.” (AFP)

Palmer has spent most American winters in Australia, notably making her last full kickstarter-funded album “Theatre Is Evil” at Sing Sing studios in Melbourne in 2012, then returning to Melbourne in the winter of 2014 to pen her best-selling book “The Art of Asking”. Palmer is going to be taking up residence again in Fitzroy, this time with her son, and hopes to write new material.

She’s scheduled SIX shows at The Gasometer as a playground to experiment with new songs in front of a live crowd.

“I love playing to my weird little Melbourne family - we’ve gotten to know each other very well over the years, and it’s nice to go back to playing to crowds of just a few hundred at a time so you can really feel the effect of the songs on people - something gets lost when you’re playing to crowds of 1,500.” (AFP)
