SIME NUGENT WITH JOSHUA COOK (USA) Sime Nugent is no stranger to songwriting. Sime has toured nationally and internationally throughout Australia, Europe and America and released more than a dozen albums with a range of bands in his 20-year career.
Sime’s work under his own name; with indie folk duo Sweet Jean and bluegrass party band The Wilson Pickers has received both critical and popular acclaim. Sime Nugent travels now with an extensive repertoire as a soloist, band leader and band member.
Joining Sime is Joshua Cook, American troubadour and devout sound crafter of rock & roll, hard R&B, deep soul, and blues.
Hailing from San Francisco, Cook joined Soft White Sixties, for several US tours, including prominent spots at SXSW, Noise Pop, High Sierra and CMJ Festivals. Cook broke off to formalise his own band, The Key Of Now, who have just released a new full-length record,
Cook is currently on an epic solo tour that takes him around the globe and brings him to Australia this July.
“He’s an artist to the core, a creator and conveyer of passion, grace, humility. An animated and authentic storyteller. A wanderer with an eye for California and an ear for rock and roll. His vitality simmers in conversation as it is when he’s on stage, owning a sound he calls & rock ‘n’ roll, deep soul, hard R&B.” – The Bay Bridged
