Hello Tut Tut are set to release their highly anticipated debut album “World Music Dance Band” on Friday 9th of March at The Gasometer Hotel in Collingwood. Joining them on the night will be Turkish gypsy group Galata Express and electro-carni master Ungus Ungus Ungus DJ.
"World Music Dance Band" is Hello Tut Tut’s debut album and a culmination of the band’s creative ventures over the last two years. The album takes its audience on a musical journey shaped by the aesthetics of cultures from around the world. Paying homage to their roots in Eastern European music, Hello Tut Tut play with the sounds of the klezmer, balkan and gypsy musical traditions. By further drawing inspiration from Latin rhythms and African tones, they create uplifting music that plays into the listener’s heart and out through their feet. Engineered and co-produced by Myles Mumford of Rolling Stock Recording Room and mastered by Adam Dempsey, the album features guest musicians Amadou Suso (Senegambian Jazz Band), Stefan Nocevski (Galata Express) and Max Schollar-Root (Ungus Ungus Ungus) who contribute authentic West African, Balkan and electronic flavours. The album launch will bring these musicians together under the Southern Stars for an all inclusive night of celebration.
Since their formation in May 2016, Hello Tut Tut has released a five-track EP and three singles, which have proven popular with fans around Australia. As well as touring the east coast, the band has toured internationally to New Caledonia, where they were well received. In addition to playing some of Australia’s most notable live music venues, Hello Tut Tut has had their audience up and moving at renowned festivals including Falls Festival, Rainbow Serpent Festival and Bello Winter Festival. Locally, the band has become well-known for throwing some of the rowdiest world music parties, filling Melbourne’s live music venues with electric energy and excitement. With members of Australian, Hungarian, Polish, Jewish, Czech and Swiss descent, Hello Tut Tut represent some of Melbourne’s cultural diversity, creating a message that celebrates this diversity through music.
World Music Dance Band will be launched on Friday the 9th of March at The Gasometer Hotel in Collingwood with Galata Express and Ungus Ungus Ungus. Tickets are on sale now through oztix at $15+bf and $20 on the door, if still available.
