You walk into the back entrance to the building and past the currently inactive gallery. It seems pretentious: another party in Collingwood? Surely there has to be something else. If only the southside wasn't so lame.
Continue up the stairs. It's warm. Hot. There's a bombed out classroom and people are smoking inside. Pretentious maybe, but kind of cool. You go in to punch a dart before seeing the music.
There are basically no lights along the walk down the hall to where the music is coming from. It's a gauntlet of dim-lit obstacles and poorly taped down wires.
The main room feels cavernous at first glance but the heat hits you straight away. Now it's scorching. You're glad there's enough room in here for the makeshift bar. You buy a cheap beer. It's disgusting, but priced accordingly.
Next you're right in the dance floor. You heat up more, you're pulled in and held there like you're in a thicket. This OH&S nightmare is a pretentious Collingwood dream.
It all ends too fast, you're left wanting more.
On the way out someone breaks a window.
That was Elsewhere 02.
